History

SVAB Hydraulik was formed October 14, 1988 by Kent Bengtsson as an offshoot from Specialventil AB which was established in 1968.

SVAB is an acronym for Specialventil AB which started its business with maneuver control valves for Volvo's combine harvesters. Since
then the company's main focus has been maneuvering vehicles.

handicap aid technology was developed for Volvo cars. These systems were completely hydraulically controlled and made it possible to drive the car without the use of feet.

the first electro hydraulic steering system was built on a mobile crane which would be used for a skylift. The system made it possible to control the skylift from the basket.

the first analog control system CHF 2A was serial produced. It was the first electro proportional control system used to control hydraulic valves. The first machines that were controlled with this system were forklifts.

the companies electro hydraulic activities was spun-off into the newly established SVAB Hydraulik AB and the first control system for forklifts were delivered.

the new analog control system PWM-8 was developed which basically was eight CHF 2A on the same circuit board. PWM-8 were also used to steer forklifts.

generation 2 of the PWM-8 system was launched known as PWM-82. PWM-82 was a general improvement of the functionality of the PWM-8.

the first systems for JCB's backhoe loaders were delivered. The system controlled all of the machines hydraulic functions, wheel steering included.

the first micro processor controlled system was launched designated PAMM. The first control levers developed by SVAB was included in PAMM. This meant that the system became much more flexible when the features now could be controlled by software instead of being hard coded on the circuit board.

development of a control system began that was directly adapted for tiltrotators (rotortilts), hence the name RT Controller. It was the first proportional control system for tiltrotators. The precision the rollers gave the machine operators were unique in its kind.

the first serial produced RT Controllers were delivered.

the first serial produced GP Controllers were delivered.

development of our "L8" grips and HEC rollers began. Double rollers in the grip, one for the thumb and one for the forefinger made it possible to control two functions simultaneously. This year SVAB was also awarded the highest credit rating, known as "Triple A" by AAA Soliditet AB. Read more

the company was awarded with "Gasellföretag" (Gazelle company) by Dagens Inustri and "Superföretag" (Super company) by Veckans Affärer. Read more

SVAB had its 20 year anniversary and the first self-produced grips with its rollers began delivering. Meanwhile the company was quality and environmentally certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Read more

a new generation of control system started its development, "MACS", functions as tool identification and automatic adjustment of the tiltrotator were some functions that were planned for the control system.

the first units of the new MACS system were delivered.
